About ROX

We study girls' lives —
and turn it into change.

Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX) is a national nonprofit helping girls find their voice, rule their experiences and embrace their confidence.

Our mission

Making the world
safer for girls.

We're fiercely committed to studying girls' experiences and helping them succeed in relationships, academics, careers and life.

To navigate their growing-up years, girls need support from the adults in their lives, skills to cope with pressure, the ability to communicate effectively, and the confidence to rule their experiences. ROX exists to give girls — and the adults who love them — exactly that.

What guides us

The beliefs behind the work

Three commitments shape everything ROX creates.

Rooted in research

We don't guess. As the only organization running ongoing large-scale studies of girls, we let data lead — most recently hearing from 17,000+ girls.

Proven, practical strategies

Research is only useful if it's usable. We translate findings into programs, tools and workshops adults can put to work immediately.

National expertise

From classrooms to kitchen tables, our work scales across districts and states while staying grounded in the real lives of girls.

"We're so fiercely committed to helping girls succeed in relationships, academics, careers and life."
